THANK YOU!!

When you contribute to CASA of Brown County, you are helping hundreds of children a year – right here in Brown County – children who’ve been abused or neglected – those who need it most. By supporting CASA, you are supporting trained and very dedicated volunteers who are “the eyes and ears” of the court, speaking up for these vulnerable children in our community.

Thank you to those who have made donations, and to those of you who are considering doing so now. You are helping to change the life of a child, and helping us to our goal of reaching 100% of the children in need.

99.9% of your gift stays and is used right here in Brown County.

An example:
12-year Jarrod* and Jessica* came to the attention of the court when their father was arrested and their mother was taken to the hospital unconscious from the beating she had sustained at the hands of their father.  The children were initially placed in a receiving home, and the CASA volunteer had her first visit with the children there. The foster mother talked about how hungry the children were, hungry for food and for attention. The CASA volunteer started building a relationship with the children one visit at a time with the gift of her attention and her presence. When they were moved from the receiving home to a more long-term foster home, the CASA volunteer continued to visit. When the children moved from the foster home to a homeless shelter with their mother, the CASA volunteer continued to see the children every week. The volunteer assisted Mom with finding resources in the community in hopes that the family would be able to stay together. Concerns arose and the children were removed from Mom and placed in another foster home. As soon as the volunteer knew where the children were, she arranged a visit. When the volunteer arrived, Jessica ran up to her and said, “I knew you’d find us. You always come no matter what!” Over the course of several years, the children have continued to change placements – with parents, relatives, and foster homes.  As they move, the committed CASA volunteer continues to find them and be a consistent attentive presence – one of the few things in their world that Jarrod and Jessica can count on.        *names changed
