CASA of Brown County belongs to the National CASA Association and the Wisconsin CASA Association.
National CASA Association is a network of 1,050 programs that are recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and other settings. The mission of the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association, together with its state and local members, is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused or neglected child can be safe, establish permanence and have the opportunity to thrive.
National CASA and our network of over 1,050 local community program offices support volunteers serving children. The role of local CASA programs is to recruit, train and support volunteers in their work with abused children. National CASA offers critical leadership and support to provide quality advocacy and lead the continued growth of the CASA network. Specific activities include Training and Curriculum opportunities, Technical Assistance and Quality Assurance, Volunteer Recruitment and Public Awareness, and Resource Development and Grants.
Wisconsin CASA Association is a charitable, nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and championing the needs of abused and neglected children. As a member of the National CASA Association network, their mission is to support quality volunteer advocacy for kids who are living under the protection of the courts and child welfare agency until they can be safe at home – or until a safe and permanent home is found for them. Their goals are to strengthen and expand a statewide network of CASA programs that serve all Wisconsin children who need advocates, and to advance public policy and practice that supports the best outcomes for kids.
The Association does not itself provide direct services to children; their role is to support Wisconsin’s seven local CASA programs, encourage program expansion, and support the start-up of new programs. They do that by cultivating resources, working to improve systems collaboration, and by advocating for enlightened public policy that advances the safety, permanence and well being of Wisconsin’s children.
In addition, CASA is very fortunate to have a relationship with Kappa Alpha Theta and Omega Delta Phi fraternities. Read more about their involvement here.
