Court-Appointed Special Advocates

CASA has made a HUGE impact in my life. How could I not be impacted by giving a child a voice? My heart explodes after a visit with my CASA kiddos, they are so fun.

Become a CASA Volunteer

Children who have been placed under a ‘Child in Need of Protection and/or Services” court order because they have experienced abuse and/or neglect are eligible to be appointed a CASA volunteer by the judge.

A CASA volunteer is trained and receives ongoing support from our staff. They visit the child on a regular basis and submit a monthly report to the judge on the child’s safety and well-being.

These monthly reports help the judge make important decisions about the child’s future. A child with a CASA volunteer is more likely to get help with other services, spend less time living in foster care and do better in school.

When a child’s case closes, they have reached a safe and permanent home either through reunification with a parent(s), adoption or guardianship has been established.

In 2024 alone, 150 CASA volunteers advocated for the best interests of 302 children in Brown County.
